The location is ideal for visitor's/families that want to explore Weardale and its surrounding areas of beauty. Hill end which is about a 25 minute drive is back to basics for families wanting to relax by the river with a picnic or a BBQ. There is also an ice cream van so the kids can enjoy an ice cream or ice lolly. Wolsingham and Stanhope are well worth a visit too. Stanhope boasts an outdoor swimming pool and there are a few public houses and cafes. If you want to visit the stunning Durham City and all its attractions then it is a ten minute drive away but there is a good local bus service if you wish to use this.
