Just a short walk or drive away is the lovely Blackhill & Consett Park, a historic green space gifted by the Consett Iron Company in the late 19th century. It offers landscaped lawns, woodlands, walking paths, and a peaceful retreat from the bustle of town. Local amenities are easily accessible — you’ll find nearby primary and secondary schools, local shops, and services in Consett town centre, which is within easy reach. The area strikes a good balance between suburban calm and good access to regional transport links. It’s well suited for guests looking for a relaxed home base with scenic countryside nearby, while still being close enough to Consett’s shops, restaurants, and convenient road links to Durham, Newcastle and beyond. Additional Information - NO SMOKING INSIDE: We kindly request that smoking be avoided inside the premises. Any indication of smoking will incur a fee of £300 for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. - We do require a separate short term rental agreement to be signed directly with us and a pre-arrival form filled prior to your stay. - LOST KEYS: If keys are lost, a £100 replacement fee is required. At Vacant Nests, we’re dedicated to ensuring our property is protected throughout every guest stay. To provide peace of mind for both owners and guests, we require all guests to either have a £400 fully refundable security deposit hold placed on their account or purchase a £40 one-time Accidental Damage Waiver, which covers up to £500 of accidental damage during the stay.
