Located in Barnard Castle, Bartlemere House is a homely place to stay when visiting the North East. With easy access to the town centre and situated in quiet residential neighbourhood, the house is ideal for those looking for a peaceful retreat in County Durham. It’s also a great base when visiting family and friends in the area or for business trips. You’ll have full access to the property during your stay which includes a kitchen diner, living room, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a garden. The Space Bartlemere House has a fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare meals easily during your stay. You can enjoy your home cooked meals in the dining area which is located at the bottom end of the space and consists of a wooden table with four matching chairs. The bright and spacious living area features two comfy velvet sofas, Smart TV and a coffee table so whether it’s some relaxing time with the family or a fun-filled evening, you’ll have everything you could need. Head upstairs and you’ll find three tranquil bedrooms. The first two bedrooms have a comfortable king size bed, along with wardrobes ample storage space. A single bedroom can also be found on the first floor. Please note that one of the king size beds can be split into two singles if this is more suitable for your stay. A sofa bed is also available at Bartlemere House which, when made up, would increase the occupancy to seven. Please contact our friendly team to arrange alternative bed arrangements. The bathroom boasts a bathtub with overhead shower, wash basin and WC for your convenience. Outside you’ll find an enclosed garden with outdoor seating and barbeque facilities. Guest Access Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Bartlemere House are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check in. Free on-street parking is available nearby on a first come, first served basis. A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Bartlemere House per reservation. Interaction with Guests We're always available for our guests so do not hesitate to get in touch. The Neighborhood Bartlemere House is located in the historic market town of Barnard Castle. Featured within the Guardian’s ‘10 of the UK’s best small towns’, there is something for everyone here. If you love to shop, the town has many antique shops so treasure seekers will be in their element. There are also lots of independent stores which you wouldn’t see on the average high street. Take your pick of restaurants, cafes and pubs which serve lovely home-made food. Barnard Castle is also known for its 12th century castle. The English Heritage property has great views over the Tees Gorge. You can try to spot Richard III’s boar emblem carved above the window in the inner ward or explore the sensory garden.
